Who I Am

Hi, I’m Lupita Mendez — a design student with a background in restaurant management and hands-on creative work.

I went back to school not because I had to, but because I wanted more: more meaning, more creativity, and more peace. While I was financially stable managing restaurants, I realized I wasn't fulfilled. I’ve always loved art, decor, and the way good design can shift a person’s mood.

That passion came to life when I helped design two family-owned restaurants — selecting paint, flooring, and greenery, and even hand-painting every table to cut costs and add heart to the space. Those moments helped shape my philosophy: I believe good design should feel like a breath of fresh air. It should be warm, intuitive, and full of soul.

As a future commercial designer, I want to create spaces — restaurants, hotels, schools — that feel welcoming, thoughtful, and inspiring. My goal is to bring calm and creativity together, and I hope that anyone who walks into a space I help design feels a sense of joy and belonging.
